If you have seen Governor Northam’s press conference then you are aware that there is a proposed shift in election dates stretching into June.
The Governor has proposed that the May town Elections be moved to the November ballot, and to postpone the June 9th Primaries to June the 23rd. All of this is pending approval of the Virginia Legislature.
Obviously, we are mid-stream for the May Towns and we have already received Absentee ballots from voters. At the moment, we cannot provide more information as to how that is going to be handled. Furthermore, we do not know how that affects the terms for the Mayors and Council members for each town.
As we learn more about the situation, we will update you on how we are being told to proceed, as well as any general policy and procedural changes that the Prince William Office of Elections will be implementing that might affect voters.
